Another post from last week...

The "Myth of Photographic Truth"....Photography has always been associated with realism. I like history, and history is so much more interesting when you have images to look at. But now, with all the photo editing capabilities, how will people know whether the photo is representative of anything real? I sell real estate, and I take photos of houses to post on the internet to try to entice buyers to come and look at the houses I list. It's a compliment to me when I take a buyer to look at one of my listings and after walking through it they say "wow, the pictures sure do this justice!"
Posted last week on my other blog page...

DTC 356....Going back over the reading so I can post...I found it really interesting to think about what kinds of images attract people's attention. We know that that newspapers are filled with bad news, violence and all the gory details, because it sells! It's fascinates me to think of why people have morbid fascination with graphic images. Think of all the books and pictures from the Holocaust...Sick as it may be, I don't think most people watch the movies and look at pictures out of 'respect for the victims'. Now we have images of children in Syria...

Catching up with DTC 356 blogs

Okay, I think I have my page set up in the right place. Now I can catch up with everyone else in the class. Since I'm new to blogging, I'll take any help that anyone wants to give me!
